Beauty and Bonding: A Look Inside Sister-Founded Salon

Meet Aiva and Amber Antonetti

At the helm of Stephen Peters Salon are sisters Aiva and Amber Antonetti, co-founders driven by their passion for the beauty industry.  To create Stephen Peters Salon, Aiva and Amber embarked on a journey to create a unique space for beauty and self-care on the South Shore. They drew inspiration from their childhood experiences in their mother’s salon and wanted to intertwine their love of family and community into the business.

A Vision for Beauty

Stephen Peters Salon is more than haircuts and colors; it’s a full-service beauty bar that offers  a wide range of services. From hair treatments, eyelash extensions, brow services, and spray tanning, to bridal hair and makeup, Stephen Peters Salon brings the luxurious services of a Newbury Street salon to the South Shore community. “We believe that beauty is about building strong, friendship-like bonds with our clients,” Aiva explains. The salon goes above and beyond by offering a complimentary service bar that includes drinks and snacks, enhancing the overall client experience.

Overcoming Challenges

Along with its successes, Stephen Peters Salon has faced struggles and had to adapt to changing markets. They opened their doors just four months before the COVID-19 pandemic hit and were forced to close for half a year. However, Aiva and Amber used this time to reassess and ultimately expand into a larger location a year later. “We are very lucky and super grateful for the support we received,” Aiva reflects.

Growth and Future Aspirations

The salon is on an exciting trajectory, with plans to open a second location in Pembroke, MA, this fall. This new venue will introduce skincare services to the Stephen Peters brand, which is an important step in the business’s growth and an exciting new treat for clients. In the long term, the sisters aim to continue building on the salon’s success and further integrating its services into the local community.

Community Commitment

Aiva and Amber understand the importance of self-care and believe that it should never be sidelined—and that attitude of prioritizing treating yourself is crucial to the salon’s mission. “Self-care will only make you feel better and motivate you in all aspects of life,” Aiva notes. With self-care comes community care, where people can feel and live better. That’s why Stephen Peters Salon takes its commitment to the community seriously and contributes to local schools, charities, and events. From golf tournaments to charity races, the salon actively participates in giving back to the South Shore.

The Unique Charm of the South Shore

What makes the South Shore so special to the sisters? “It’s a very tight-knit community where everyone knows everyone,” they share. With the area’s close connections, the salon has been able to grow through word-of-mouth marketing and a personal, genuine approach.

A Message of Resilience

Because they founded their company at ages 22 and 26, perseverance and confidence are crucial for Aiva and Amber. “Nothing’s impossible, even when it feels like you have every reason to quit,” she advises. Her journey underscores the importance of self-belief and resilience, making the achievements all the more rewarding.

Stephen Peters Salon is more than just a beauty destination; it’s a community hub where friendships blossom and self-care is prioritized. As the sisters look to the future, they remain committed to providing a space where clients can enjoy not only exceptional beauty services but also a warm, welcoming environment. “We hope everyone continues to love Stephen Peters Salon as much as we do,” Aiva concludes.

For those on the South Shore looking for a blend of beauty and community spirit, Stephen Peters Salon is undoubtedly a place to visit.
