A Sweet Blend of Tradition, Community, and Clean Ingredients

In Rockland, Massachusetts, cookies have become more than a sweet treat. Thanks to a local mother-daughter duo, a family recipe has become a brand that’s all about inspiring delight through cookies. Taylor Walker, COO and co-founder of Spritzal Cookie Company, and her mother, Jody, have infused tradition into their innovative baking style. Spritzal is based on Nannie Greta’s recipe—a homemade and specially crafted take on the traditional Swedish Spritz cookie. That basis provides a personal element to Taylor and Jody’s work, which is dedicated to crafting clean treats that are better for the body than conventional cookie brands. “Our mission is to create simple, high-quality cookies that bring joy to everyday moments while redefining indulgence with transparency and care,” Taylor shares.

Crafting Cookies with Purpose

Spritzal’s cookies are a testament to their philosophy: simple tastes so good. Made with clean, minimal ingredients, the cookies are always seed oil-free, non-GMO, dye-free, and free from artificial additives. From the buttery Deliciously Almond shortbread to playful flavors like Almond Chocolatey Chip and Ooh La Lemon, each cookie delivers indulgence without compromise.

From Taylor’s perspective, Spritzal’s commitment to clean indulgence gives it a mission and sets it apart from other brands. “Unlike many ‘big box’ brands that rely on hydrogenated oils, high-fructose corn syrup, and synthetic dyes, we take the opposite approach. We use natural flavors and clean ingredients, ensuring every bite honors the quality of our great-grandmother’s recipe while meeting the expectations of today’s health-conscious consumer,” she says.

This uncompromising dedication to quality has made Spritzal a standout in the competitive cookie market, with a loyal customer base that values clean-label snacks.

A Growing Brand with Heart

When Spritzal launched in 2014, it was seen as a way to honor holiday tradition—and though those traditions are still kept close to the brand’s heart, the company has evolved into a nationally recognized brand. For Taylor and Jody, journey highlights include  successful retail partnerships with Costco, Kroger, and Food Lion, as well as recognition by RangeMe as a Top 50 Rising & Trending Brand for 2025. Taylor herself has been nominated for Entrepreneur of Impact, an honor that emblems how meaningful the company is.

Spritzal’s growth hasn’t been without challenges. As a self-funded, family-run business, Taylor and Jody have faced the complexities of scaling production and competing with larger, well-funded brands. “Resilience and authenticity have been key to overcoming these hurdles,” Taylor reflects. “We’ve learned to turn obstacles into opportunities, staying true to our roots and values every step of the way.”

Looking ahead, the team has ambitious goals: expanding their retail presence, scaling production to meet growing demand, and introducing new clean-label product lines. Within five years, Spritzal aims not only to remain a trusted leader in the better-for-you snacking space, but also to achieve nationwide distribution and even expand internationally.

Giving Back and Building Community

Even beyond their products, giving back is at the heart of Spritzal’s mission. Taylor and Jody began their journey at local farmers' markets, which connected them  directly with their community—and that connection hasn’t wavered as the company has grown. “Those early days fostered a deep appreciation for supporting others,” Taylor says.

Today, Spritzal supports food banks, mentors aspiring entrepreneurs, and partners with national organizations like Wreaths Across America and the USO. They’ve donated cookies and resources to U.S. military veterans and their families and worked with NEXCOM to provide troops with a taste of home.

“We are deeply committed to uplifting others,” Taylor explains. “Our community involvement reflects our gratitude for the support we’ve received and our belief in making a positive impact.”

South Shore: A Source of Inspiration

For Taylor and Jody, the South Shore isn’t just home—it’s an integral part of their story. “The sense of community here is unmatched,” Taylor shares. Their favorite summer days are spent on their boat in the Scituate outer harbor, enjoying the beauty and tranquility of the region.

“This area shaped who we are as individuals and as a brand. It’s a place that inspires us daily,” Taylor says.

Advice for Aspiring Entrepreneurs

Taylor’s journey has come with obstacles and required critical thinking and adaptability.  With those experiences under her belt, she shares heartfelt and useful advice for those looking to follow a similar path: “Don’t give up. Entrepreneurship is not for the faint of heart, but it’s worth every challenge. Along the way, you’ll hear countless ‘no’s,’ but remember—‘no’ isn’t permanent; it’s just ‘no for now.’”

She encourages others to focus on building genuine relationships, staying true to their mission, and creating products and initiatives that reflect their values. “Pair that with passion and resilience, and success will follow.”
